I’m so glad you found us! Here you are going to find an abundance of information and ideas to help you create real cash-flow from your passion, and be able to connect with other knitters who want to do the same.

So how did this all came about?

It was my marvelous mother-in-law who introduced me to the joys of knitting – I am truly in awe of the pieces she can create with yarn and two needles! But when I saw how beautiful knitted or crocheted pieces like this were selling for such pitiful amounts on ebay or at markets, I knew something had to be done!

For the last 12 years I have been involved in small business sales and marketing. I have worked in a range of mostly my own businesses from manufacturing, building, personal development and womens fashion. And I have learned from this wide experience that there are certain rules to sales and marketing that are essential to success in business, no matter what the product or industry.

So I combined my knowledge of sales and marketing, with my admiration of the skill and creativity of knitters, plus my desire to help people create the lifestyle they really want, to create a complete step-by-step guide to knitting for profit. I decided to self publish this book online as an e-book, because that’s the best way I can reach the people who would benefit from this information.

I have now created this blog to continue the education, to provide new information, tips, resources, inspiration and ideas. I also want this to become a place where you can share your experiences and ideas and become part of the ‘knitterprenuer’ community.

You see, I believe that you can live the lifestyle you desire, provide extra income for your family, or simply support your knitting habit by creating a knitting business. And I have discovered plenty of real live proof that it can be done, as I find more and more inspirational stories of women who live their passion.

The Illustrious Knit For Profit Team…

matt My husband Matt and I work together from our rural home in the beautiful Southern Highlands of Australia. We absolutely love the fact that we no longer have to commute, we can enjoy a home-cooked meal on the deck for lunch, and at 4pm it’s family time and we all head out into the bush at the back door! – see pic’s below.

It was Matt’s mother who inspired us to create Knit for Profit. He grew up with his mum’s knitting (as a small boy his favourite toy was a hand-knitted dog, which looks very loved I can tell you!), and remembers his mum and her best friend selling their knitted dolls and clothing at local craft fairs and markets for extra cash for the family. So he knew first hand that knitting for profit worked!

Matt brings a lot of inside business knowledge to Knit for Profit. Being a business broker has given him great insights into the nuts and bolts of business success, from small home based to multi-million dollar enterprises.

So we have created the lifestyle that we once only dreamed of, and our desire is that you will do the same. And we hope you get as much benefit and enjoyment from reading this blog as we get from writing it!
